Kelsey could never marry a man like Serle

Serle Falconer had hurt her father--led him to financial ruin--and destroyed her parents' marriage.

In Japan to visit her father, Kelsey lost no time in finding Mr. Calconer and telling him what a swine she thought he was. So he couldn't seriously want to marry her.

The marriage proposal, sent by a go-between in the traditional Japanese style, was nothing more than a cruel practical joke designed to pay her back for insulting him.

Angered, Kelsey decided two could play that game. Maybe she'd just call his bluff and accept his proposal...
