On Equal Footing (Crossroads, #2)

Sometimes falling apart is the only way back together.

Mike is sweet, supportive, and everything Brandon’s ever wanted in a boyfriend. But then there’s his grueling career, Brandon’s empty bank account, the impossible difference between their families. Not to mention the long-distance thing.

So when Brandon finds himself unexpectedly jobless, he decides it’s time Mike cut his losses and sets out across the country to break up with him. He hitches a ride with Vera, who’s on her own journey to reunite an abandoned urn—found in a foreclosed storage unit—with its rightful owner.

Along the way, the two forge an unlikely friendship and discover that by refusing to let go of hurts from the past, they’re both holding themselves back from happiness. Can Brandon face up to what’s important in time to reconcile with a heartbroken Mike, or will he have to start over, fractured and alone?
