The Candy Cane Club

A man is found dead just outside his home. The man is not the first to be killed in an identical manner, by someone who knew what they were doing. There is a serial killer at work, and Detective Inspector Bruce Appleby has only one lead, there is a common link to all the deceased men - The Candy Cane Club.

This is a private and exclusive TG club in the heart of Reading, but he finds the club unsurprisingly resistant to any form of intrusive investigation. No genetic females are employed in the club, only those girls who were all born boys. All the staff are transgendered in some way, and Bruce has to try to unlock the intelligence which can only be inside, either from the clients or the staff.

The only answer is to get someone inside, to work deep undercover without the knowledge of the club. In order to do so, they have to convince the management that they too are transgendered, but could they ever find a cop to volunteer for such an assignment.

One did, and for Police Constable Nick Winton, a whole new life is opened up. It begs some questions:
Where will it take him?
Will he catch the killer?
Why does he enjoy the new role so much?
