Jake Maddox is an Arizona territory lawman whose moral compass has been bent too many times. He is ready to retire from the law, become a homesteader and find a wife. Maisie Jane Jackson is an eastern genteel belle, too young, too spoiled and too stubborn to know what is good for her.
