From my Dead Husband

I received an anniversary card in the mail . . . from my dead husband.

It’s two years after the death of my abusive husband, and I’m finally starting to live my life again. I have a great job in a new state, a loving boyfriend, and a chatty best friend who shows up uninvited with cinnamon rolls. I finally feel safe.

But today is my wedding anniversary. I go to my mailbox and find a card inside. The handwriting stops my heart.

It’s from my dead husband.
