Off With Her Heart

She'd walked by that mirror every day.
Today she decided to walk through it.

The raven-haired girl looked at herself and sighed. She'd long sensed she was different. More than different, she was a deep disappointment to her parents and to this world.
The realization cut deep into her heart.
That's when Katy decided that she didn't like the girl her parents wanted her to be anyway. She knew she had to get away. Any place is better than a world that steals your heart.
Maybe that's why she tried to walk through the mirror. To escape.
Which is the exact moment something on the other side of the mirror grabbed her arm and pulled her through.
Through shattering glass, she fell into a world covered in mist.

Into Wonderland.
