Soul Snatcher (Tarot's Pawn Shop, #1)

My name is Danny Tarot. I’m an empathic sorcerer and a full-blown train wreck when it comes to controlling magic.

A few years ago my best pal, Ox, and I inherited my grandfather’s pawn shop and his wise-cracking bulldog, Chet. As benign as that may sound, it's more dangerous than you think since the pawn shop is a front for our real job, locating and containing supernatural artifacts.

Ox is the MacGyver to my Harry Dresden and Chet, well he's mostly a taco-chomping bag of gas attempting to master the finer art of napping. He's also worthless as a guard dog considering he wasn't even in the shop during a recent robbery.

The thief got away with a priceless and uber-deadly artifact called the Soul Snatcher, and if we don't get it back, we have about 48 hours to live before a surly sorcerer kills us.
