This is the question orphaned shepherd/wolfdog Shayla wonders when she escapes her tough life in Ukraine and boards a ship heading to America. Joining another dog friend from Father's House orphanage, they meet their new family in the States at a rescue ranch. A home filled with dogs who have similar distressing pasts.
As Shayla opens her heart to her new dog companions, human parents, a troubled teen, and God, she wrestles with her sense of belonging. In finding genuine love and acceptance there, Shayla and her friends learn to heal the painful scars of their pasts, filled with sadness and abandonment.
Battling fires, wolves, and deadly neighbors ... Shayla must find her inner strength to not only discover who she is, but her purpose as she journeys INTO THE LIGHT!
