AfterDark (Witches and Wolves, #1)

Mythical creatures live in disguise. Witches and warlocks rule them. Wolf shifters reject them.

Him: “You’re mad because I didn’t kiss you, aren’t you?”
Her: “I’m mad because I want to kiss you now.”

VINA RUNE inherited a magical red scarf her family had long protected, so when she loses it, a wolf shifter is to blame. To halt his wrath, they turned the growling beast into a harmless bird and locked him in their family bookstore. But even as a bird, the wolf is no easy prisoner: he's sharp-tongued, his hunger is insatiable, and their forced proximity reluctantly turns to desire. Because wolf shifters are forbidden from entering San Francisco, Vina must get her heirloom back, or her health will deteriorate. If it falls into the wrong hands, the red scarf is an impending calamity waiting to destroy all in its path.
