Overview
An old legend says that mother pelicans would pierce their own chests and spill their blood to sustain their young. Although this legend is believed to be a myth, one thing is a human mother will give all of herself for her children, including her life.

Lefty Bruce and his wife are enjoying a quiet Sunday evening at home when a young child runs to their residence begging for help. The young girl isn’t clear what’s happening at home, but she says her mother yelled at her to go get help, and those commands were followed by screams.

Mr. Bruce does what most Cajun men would do in a situation like he grabs his shotgun and rushes to the rescue. When shots are fired but he never returns, Mrs. Bruce calls the Mechant Loup Police Department, and Lieutenant Melvin Saltzman is dispatched to the scene.

Meanwhile, Detective Clint Wolf has been recovering nicely from injuries sustained in a recent gun battle, and he’s home working on a chicken coop with Gracie when he gets the call. Rushing to get dressed, Clint meets up with Melvin outside of the Bruce residence, and the two of them rush to the home of the little girl, where they make an eerie the porch door has been broken open from the inside and there’s lots of blood inside the house, but there’s not a soul in sight.

When they make the next grisly discovery, Clint finds himself on the trail of a sadistic killer who is especially evil, and he takes Detective Amy Rice along for the ride. How will he act when he catches this evil monster? It’s anybody’s guess. But one thing is clear, he intends to make sure this person never murders again.
