Some Melodious Sonnet (Eyes to the Hills #1)

Torn between honor and love, they will be forced to make the most agonizing decision of their lives.

Sent to assist missionaries to the Cherokee Nation in Georgia, Jeremiah Harrison eagerly puts his legal training to use for a cause he believes in. While he awaits the arrival of the widow he has promised to marry, he dedicates himself to learning the language and preparing a home. But his defense of the missionaries draws the attention of the governor, and Jeremiah is launched into a fierce legal battle that may determine the Cherokees’ destiny—and his own.

Rather than marry a wealthy man she cannot respect, Cairstine Mackay has chosen the difficulties of pioneer life in the north Georgia hills. Employed at her brother’s mercantile, she finds purpose in guiding her young stepsister and aiding the missionaries at New Echota. Tensions flare between her and newcomer Jeremiah Harrison, but when tragedy strikes, he steps in to help where her father and brother will not. Then Jeremiah is unexpectedly the one in need, and Cairstine discovers that seeking his best interests will devastate her own heart.

Based on the true story of the missionaries’ fight against the Cherokee removal, Some Melodious Sonnet is Christian historical fiction that weaves together biblical values, historical intrigue, and a gentle love story.
