They say life can change in an instant. I guess I didn’t realize how true that is until one bad ride ends my rodeo career for good.

Suddenly, I’m thirty-six, single, and the brand new owner of The Last Lasso Farm in the middle of nowhere, Alabama. But my first night in Mills Corner, I meet a girl who lights my soul on fire. Lucy Phillips is funny, adventurous, and just the right amount of chaos, and she makes me wonder if there might be more to this town than I thought.

Until I learn the girl I can’t stop thinking about couldn’t be more off limits. Her brother has been my best friend and mentee for years, and when he agrees to take my spot in a team riding competition, it’s up to me to help Lucy keep the family pumpkin patch in business. My job is simple: help her keep her customers happy, do what I can to manage the farm animals, and definitely don’t flirt with my best friend’s little sister.
