Use Me (Dangerously Intertwined, #1)

Rhys Cole earns a living covering hockey games for the Chicago Blackhawks. One night, when he gets home early and finds his girlfriend in bed with someone else, he goes to the nearest bar to drink and forget the betrayal. He doesn’t expect the blonde news anchor sitting next to him to grab his arm, pull him close, and introduce him as her boyfriend.

Ashtyn Valor ends the news broadcast every night with a smile, even though her life is unraveling behind the scenes. Viewers send messages that cross boundaries, and every Monday, she finds a dozen red roses on her desk from a secret admirer whose notes are becoming increasingly possessive. When her boyfriend breaks up with her, she goes to the neighborhood bar to forget her pain, only to be creeped out by a strange guy. Thinking quickly, she notices a familiar face sitting next to her and pretends he’s her boyfriend to end an awkward encounter.

That night turns into a no-strings-attached relationship based on one rule: Ashtyn and Rhys can use each other in the bedroom, but they can’t fall in love.

When the messages from Ashtyn’s admirer go from flattering to frightening, Rhys refuses to see her as just a temporary escape. Protecting her means standing between Ashtyn and the man convinced she already belongs to him, and if they make one wrong move, the story that began with a lie could end with only one of them walking away alive.
