Time Healer

London girl Katie O'Reilly dreams of becoming a doctor, but a disappointing grade soon gives her doubts. Her physics-whizz classmate, Geeky James, could help her revise, except their last conversation was when she rejected him...

Unfortunately, she is forced into close contact with James at a school science competition. Or maybe that’s fortunately? A shared meal has her wondering if they could be friends after all. Just as Katie and James start to move past their awkwardness, things get complicated by another confusing scientist, Dr Seb.

Seb works at the secretive research centre nearby, and if Katie thinks he makes a bad first impression, his second is even worse when his careless actions put her in exactly the wrong place at the wrong time.

Flung far from home, Katie sets out on a journey to find her way back. She ends up spending more time than she intended to with both James and Seb, as well as two British Ambassadors and even an Empress. And while some of the events on her journey encourage her passion for medicine, others threaten to destroy it.

Whether she finally discovers a way home or not, Katie discovers something just as important: how to move on.

Time Healer is a standalone time travel romance full of coming-of-age conflicts and adventure, with echoes of Outlander, but suitable for a YA audience.
