Academy (Astral Alignment Book 13)

A generation has passed since the end of the world, and mankind's new colonies are rebuilding what was lost. Among them are Far Harbor and Procyon, a quiet seaside village and an interstellar Alexandria. Explore them both in this two-part installment of the Astral Alignment saga.

In The League of Inconvenience, Archimedes Marshal, prodigal son of Alfheim's legendary technomancer, ventures to the galactic university with hopes of learning magic, but his failure to do so soon becomes the least of his worries. His closest friends, an astral prince, a runaway and a Valkyrian spy, have been targeted by Henderson Starstrider, the famous defender of Procyon. Their rivalry pits Archimedes against mutant homunculi, a servant race of the abyss and the so-called hero himself, who proves by far to be the most dangerous villain of them all.

Elsewhere, in The Necro-Lord's Bakery, a powerful highlord is cast out of Carcosa, the greatest empire of evil in the omniverse. The Warmaster of Death, however, finds herself in a more domestic environment after a blow to the head wipes her memories clean. As talented in the kitchen as she is at raising legions of the dead, Naotalba is quickly adopted by the people of Far Harbor. She settles down, starts a family and bakes delicious cakes, but she must also protect her new home from the astral plane's countless dangers.
