Grave Missteps (The Afterlife Files #9)

Funeral director Wren Grimm expects a quiet service. Instead, she's burying Marguerite Stallworth, the methodical paralegal everyone in Honeyvale liked and nobody really knew, and Sheriff Davis is calling it a robbery gone wrong. Wren's empathic gift says otherwise.

Marguerite leaves behind a tidy house, careful files, and a quiet little investigation no one was supposed to find — into a tragic local legend twenty-two years gone. While showing Honeyvale's chatty new water elemental around the cemetery, Wren spots fresh footprints at the legend's forgotten grave, and suddenly the story everyone in town loves to sigh about isn't adding up. With a true-crime-obsessed ghost, a vampire who has Opinions about graveside etiquette, and a cat who's already three steps ahead, Wren follows a trail that someone has spent two decades hoping no one would walk.

Because in Honeyvale, even the missteps have a way of catching up.
