Claimed by My Ex's Best Friend (Primal Alphas #14)

Ava Sinclair had a plan for tonight. Walk in, find the evidence, take the moral high ground. She did not plan for Tyler to be in actual progress when she opened the door, or for herself to end up standing in the rain outside his building with ruined hair, no shoes, and nowhere to go.

Dominic Reyes is Tyler's best friend of sixteen years. Thirty-eight. Six-four. Built like a bad idea. She has met him exactly eleven times—she counted, and then felt guilty about counting, because the way he'd once said her name across Tyler's dining table had no business staying with her as long as it did.

He was six blocks away.

He pulls to the curb, says *get in, Ava*, and drives her to his penthouse without once mentioning Tyler. Her heat isn't due for another week. His scent—cedar and dark rum in the enclosed car—has made it clear that her body didn't get that memo. He watches the road like a man who has already made a decision.

The friendship is sixteen years old. The want is older than that. She was supposed to be off-limits. He hasn't been treating her that way since she got in the car.
