Black Gold Secret (The Mercer Files Book 1)

A dead rig. A buried secret. A conspiracy that refuses to stay underwater.

Reporter Gemma Klein is stuck covering storm damage when an anonymous package points her to Blackwater Rig Three, an offshore disaster site exposed by Hurricane Tanya. Salvage operator Luke Mercer wants nothing to do with journalists, especially one digging into the explosion that killed his father. But when Luke finds a hidden case inside the wreck, the old accident starts looking like a cover-up.

The deeper Gemma and Luke dig, the more dangerous the evidence becomes. Missing records, shell companies, and a powerful energy group all point to the same Blackwater was never just a tragedy. It was a fraud worth killing for.

Now the people who buried the truth are moving to wipe Blackwater off the map, erase the evidence, and silence anyone who can connect the past to the present. To expose the conspiracy, Gemma and Luke will have to risk the story, the evidence, and their lives before Blackwater disappears for good.

For fans of Indiana Jones meets Blood & Treasure, with clean action-adventure, conspiracy suspense, offshore danger, and a slow-burn romantic undercurrent.
