Always Almost You

Interior designer Lauren Simpson is headed to Newport, Rhode Island, for a quiet Christmas getaway with her beloved dog, Pumpkin. She’s hoping a change of scenery will help her leave the past behind. Architect Mike Miller is traveling to Charleston to spend the holidays with his family, content to keep life steady and uncomplicated.

A powerful winter storm disrupts both of their plans, stranding them at the same airport hotel. One unexpected evening—and a stray dog they rescue—brings them together in a way neither can ignore.

By morning, the storm has passed and so has their chance to reconnect. They part without last names, without contact information, and without any way to find each other again.

In the weeks that follow, Lauren and Mike try to move on. As regret deepens, they each tell themselves they need to forget about the compelling stranger they met on vacation and move on.

But sometimes, the love you think you missed…
is the one that was always meant to find its way back to you.
