Suncatcher (Sapphic Western Wanderers #1)

A sapphic star-crossed love story between a lost gargoyle and a reckless gunslinger.

Driz has watched humans from afar all her life, longing for connection. Made of living stone sculpted by the hands of a long-dead god, gargoyles are fated to be solitary, and Driz tries to accept her reality as a feared creature with a forgotten purpose. Until she meets her.

As the sheriff’s daughter in a remote salt-mining town, Pearl is used to danger and hard work. With a reputation as a magic-eating sharpshooter, not much surprises her anymore, and she’s built high walls to keep out more than just her enemies. When a lonely gargoyle saves her from a deadly situation, Pearl makes a bargain in exchange. What she hasn’t prepared for is feeling treasured by a seven-foot-tall woman with wings, horns, and a face of nightmares.

They should be incompatible in every way and yet are drawn together time after time. With the railroad pushing west and rivals scheming in the south, Pearl has enough to manage without choosing between her heart and her duty. And in Driz’s attempts to convince the world she isn’t the violent monster they expect, she may ultimately prove their worst fears right.
