Ruthless, But for Her: A Captive Bride Medieval Romance (Black Sails of the Border, #1)

He took another man's wife. Her husband demanded her return. His reply: "She stays."

Ashton answers to no crown.

He's the mind behind the Black Sails... three brothers who took to reiving the North Sea after the border closed its roads to them. No flag protects them. No king claims them. So when the deputy warden's wife falls into his hands at sea, Ashton takes her for leverage.

Lady Cassia is used to being a pawn.

Her father traded her for an alliance, and her husband claimed her for an heir. The reivers who hijacked her ship are just the next men in line to dictate her fate. She expects cruelty. Instead she gets a captor who takes nothing and waits for her to come to him.

When Cassia's husband comes to take back his wife, the sea takes him instead. The king's men call it murder. Lady Cassia isn't certain they're wrong. To stay is to stand with the men accused of it. To go home is to be traded again.

She stays anyway.

Ruthless, But For Her is Book 1 of the Black Sails of the Border trilogy... a full-length steamy medieval romance with a guaranteed happily ever after. Each book follows one of three brothers and can be read on its own.
