Odessa In The Dark

Odessa is trapped in Crestwood Marsh. Bound not by force, but by a fierce resolve to shield her younger sister, Iris, from the trauma lingering like a war-torn shadow in her mind.

When Iris falls ill, Odessa steps into the role of caretaker, their mother incapacitated by her own struggles. One night, a Thana Mór, a spirit of death, descends upon Iris to claim her soul. In her desperation, Odessa strikes a bargain with the spirit and to her surprise, the Thana Mór accepts.

She has seven days to uncover the spirit’s name or lose Iris to the underworld forever, and condemn herself to a life of eternal servitude under Azrael, the lord of the dead. Through a high-stakes game of cards, Odessa must rely on her wit and charm to pry the name from the spirit's lips, but the wager soon unearths more than she ever bargained for.

As the Thana Mór pries open the scars of her troubled past, Odessa is forced to confront her demons, the cruelty of her abuser, and the weight of the terrible curse he left behind.

Despite the efforts of her ex-lover and the town doctor to intervene, the trial only deepens Odessa’s isolation, finding the only comfort in the hands of the Thana Mór. Will Odessa succeed in discovering the Thana Mór's name and free both her and Iris from their darkened fate? Or will the burden of facing her past be far too great to overcome?
