Surrender to the Scot (Highland Bodyguards #7)

A dangerous mission. A deadly conspiracy. A daring love.

Jerome Munro has been battling a shameful truth all his life—he is the son of a traitor. So when Robert the Bruce orders him to deliver a bold declaration asserting Scotland’s independence, Jerome knows it’s his best chance to prove his allegiance. When he travels to the Borderlands to gather support for the King, he finds himself entranced by a copper-haired English lass whose determination to serve the Bruce kindles an unexpected attraction. Fearing his desire for Elaine will disrupt his assignment, Jerome fights against the heat between them, but when fate throws them together on a dangerous mission, he must choose between love and loyalty.

Elaine longs for much more than the sheltered life of an English lady. The darkly handsome Highland warrior who arrives at her Borderland home provides the perfect opportunity for her to show that she’s more than a silly, spoiled girl. She convinces Jerome to let her return to the Bruce’s court with him, but when she accidentally uncovers a plot against the King, she realizes she and Jerome are the only ones who can save Scotland’s hard-earned freedom. As the threat spirals out of control, can they unravel the mystery and protect their growing love?
