Midlife Incantations (Paraval #2)

The romantic midlife adventure of dentist Elise Clair continues in the second book of the Paraval Series, which chronicles the divorced witch's journey from housewife to warden of a magical town perched over the gate to hell.

Elise and Theo, the fire-wielding general of Black Lake Falls, are finally able to enjoy their previously forbidden love. But new work duties start to strain their budding romance.
After Ronath, the minotaur gatekeeper, escapes from the hospital in a psychotic state, leaving behind a strange symbol written in blood, Elise and Theo discover he's searching for a lost object that has ties to an old alchemy secret society. When Elise realizes the same object may be the key to her own quest, she and Theo begin a race to find it and save the town before Ronath can use it for his own dark purposes.
