Flashover (Firebound #2)

I thought the worst had already happened.

One flashover killed my entire crew. I survived, and the world called it a tragedy. I called it hell. Demoted. Disgraced. Haunted by flames I can’t explain. Now I train rookies in the Arizona heat, trying to outrun the fire still burning under my skin.

Then a new safety officer arrives. Kade Veyron, quiet, controlled, lethal in a way that sets every nerve on edge. He says he’s here to help. I’m pretty sure he’s here to watch me fall.

But the way he looks at me? It’s not suspicion. It’s possession.

And when the fires start acting wrong again, faster, hotter, targeted, I know this isn’t over. Someone’s using wildfire to hide something darker. And I’m the one they’ve marked to take the blame.

What they don’t know is the storm they’ve just unleashed.

Because Kade isn’t who he seems. And neither am I.
